
• Representation before environmental authorities for filing and obtaining environmental concessions, authorizations, licenses, registrations, and permits;
• Determining degree of compliance with applicable environmental law;
• Carrying out environmental audits and coordinating the technical evaluation;
• Reviewing inspections, administrative rulings, penalties, fines, closures, and corrective measures that require immediate action, as well as negotiating preventive measures;
• Advising on means to protect or restore natural resources, as well as on handling wild flora and fauna, biotechnology, and biosafety issues;
• Advising potential investors—Guatemalan and foreign—on environmental issues;
• Designing corporate and financial structures that may involve Guatemalan financial entities;
• Interpreting international treaties and conventions on environmental matters.
